Best Android Pregnancy Apps
A review of five must have pregnancy apps for Android users.
Contraction Timer
Developed by L-J-Holmes
Contraction Timer is a great little app that came in handy when I had my daughter in 2020. With my first daughter I had back labor and there were no contractions to time. With my second, I was induced. My third daughter was my first time experiencing true labor contractions. It was so convenient to keep my Android smartphone at my bedside, and for each contraction, simply tap "Start Timer". The Contraction Timer times the frequency and duration of each contraction and logs them in an easy to read interface. It was easy to follow the patterns of my contractions to help me decide when to head to the hospital. I recommend the Contraction Timer to any Android loving mom to be.
BabyCenter My Pregnancy Today
Developed by BabyCenter
If you're expecting, chances are you have or will stumble across BabyCenter.com. I virtually lived on this site during my last two pregnancies. BabyCenter is well known for being a trustworthy, informative source of information for pregnant women. Therefore I was excited when I found out they made baby's daily development stats available in an easy to use Android app. Enter your estimated date of delivery into BabyCenter My Pregnancy Today and each day it will deliver to your phone information about how far along you are in your pregnancy, images of what your baby looks like, and details about your baby's development. It's fun to check the app each day and learn when your baby grows fingernails or sucks his or her thumb.
What to Expect Pregnancy Tracker
Developed by Everyday Health
I did not use What to Expect's Pregnancy Tracker since I used the BabyCenter tracker, but I did evaluate the app. This app is related to the book some call the pregnancy Bible, 'What to Expect When You're Expecting'. This app taps into the website's message boards, so if you're already a member there, you'll be happy to be able to access via your Android app. The app also provides weekly details about your baby's development and images of your body, belly and baby.
Prenatal Lullabies Lite
Developed by DownloadAndroid.info
Prenatal Lullabies Lite is a free Android app that plays music for your developing baby. Some believe playing music to an unborn baby in the womb will make the baby smarter later in life, and while this hasn't been proven, some moms and dads believe it can't hurt to try. If nothing else, it may simply facilitate a happier environment in mom's tummy for the baby. Prenatal Lullabies Lite plays slow, soothing music, including classical music. As a bonus, the music can be relaxing for mom as well!
Pregnancy Assistant
Developed by zneref
Pregnancy Assistant is a very popular app available in the Android market for following your baby's development. As with the aforementioned apps, it provides weekly updates on your unborn baby's development. If you try the other pregnancy tracker apps and they aren't for you, give the Pregnancy Assistant a try. You simply enter your due date and each week you can see pictures of what your baby looks like and details about your baby's growth process.
