Dancing with the Stars "Bedtime Stories" 11.3 Recap
Find out what happened on the Season 11 week 3 episode of ABC's reality ballroom dance competition
Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough:
Firstly we got a little gossip history lesson that in the 80s Jen and boyfriend at the time Matthew Broderick were in a car crash that killed a mother and daughter. Jen had severe neck pain ever since, got a clamp put into her spine especially for DWTS and luckily she did because otherwise she could have been paralyzed. JenDer did the samba to the theme of sexy teacher seducing student. The theme was a bit ick but they managed to make it steamy and Jen's fringed pants looked great. The judges said she was a bit off though.
Score: 24
Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas:
Did the waltz to "Edelweiss," from "The Sound of Music soundtrack." Flo teared up a bit because the dance reminded her of her husband RIP. A tribute is understandable but the dance was so slow it was more like walking not waltzing.
Score: 20
Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya:
To get Kurt motivated for the next dance he had a tea party with two of his super-cute daughters where they correctly showed him how to drink tea with the pinky sticking out. For this dance the story was someone having a bad day doing the foxtrot to the song "Bad Day." He had charm but Bruno said his frying-pan hands were back.
Score: 23
Margaret Cho and Louis Van Amstel:
MarCho managed to squeeze in rehearsals for her next dance during her Canadian comedy tour that Louis came along for. Their theme was "coming out" doing the samba to "Copacabana." She looked good at the beginning shimmying away with a rainbow fringed dress but lost her rhythm soon after. The judges said she lost her way and she snapped back at Len when he said he didn't really understand the story: "The story is about having pride while other people are criticizing you." Ok then. "It's also the gayest thing that ever happened." Carrie Ann: "Dancing with the Stars has gone gay."
Score: 18
Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani:
Their dance was the waltz to the story of a woman left behind by her marine. The judges claimed the dance was touching, beautifully danced and acted. They not only got the first two 9 scores this season but Tony had to wax his legs because of last week's 7 score.
Score: 26
Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas:
This story was about a rich lady giving a homeless man a chance to do the foxtrot. It looked a bit stilted and the judges thought so too.
Score: 19
Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy:
Because Brandy was a pain last time this week she taped her mouth shut during rehearsals so she would listen more to Maks' direction. But viewers only saw the tape on for a second then it was hanging off one side and she was yabbering away as usual. But Maks got her back by spanking her butt disguising it as "direction." Anyway they told the story of "The Bodyguard," (Kevin Costner movie where he was hired to protect diva-singer Whitney Houston) to the samba. The judges liked it enough but didn't think he was acting protective enough of her.
Score: 24
Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer:
Did the waltz to the story of meeting cute in a restaurant and dancing up a storm. Carrie Ann and Len liked his style but criticized his footwork again.
Score: 23
Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Karina Smirnoff:
They did the foxtrot to Black Eyed Peas "Boom Boom Pow." It was supposed to be a futuristic set but it looked more like Bride of Frankenstein meets the stiff goofy-grinning Sitch. He was trying to dance though but Karina looked like she was trying to deflect the views from him with her twitching body.
Score: 20
Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke:
Their dance was the samba and who cares what the story was about since all we could concentrate on was his bare chest. Bruno and Carrie Ann said it was hot. Len said it was a higher standard.
Score: 24
The Results show is Tuesday 9 pm on ABC.
Guest performance last minute will be from... Michael Bolton. Susan Boyle had to pull out because of a throat infection
